Acoustic
CD (Item 595115) Blujazz, 2011 — Condition: New Copy
The title's an apt one here – as Greg Spero's probably best known for his keyboard work in the group of trumpeter Corey Wilkes – but steps out here in a set of all-acoustic material on piano! Yet despite the change in instrument, Spero keeps his playing in a similar mode – blocking things out on the acoustic instrument in ways that really recall an electric vibe – a great style that almost sounds a bit like the rhythmic progressions used by Robert Glasper in his music – with a similarly wonderful sense of flow! The set features gentle bass and drums for rhythm – and titles include "Latin Fusion Blues", "Hills", "Letting It Go", "Flow", and "Universe". © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
