Radio Bossa
CD (Item 579830) Irma (Italy), 2011 — Condition: New Copy
A great idea for a record – one that takes a host of familiar hits from the past few decades, and reworks them as retro-styled bossa numbers – all in the best mix of modes that we've come to love from Italy's Irma label! The record has the cool retro touches we've always loved in Irma's best – rhythms that are contemporary, but still nice and warm – with instrumentation that definitely echoes older bossa modes, with plenty of jazz inflections – even though the overall production is definitely contemporary! Most tracks have female lead vocals – and titles include "Cosmic Girl", "Street Life", "Smooth Operator", "Jamming", "Tom's Diner", "Walking On The Sun", "Where The Streets Have No Name", "Nothing Compares 2 U", and "Hot Stuff". © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
