Gator (with bonus tracks)
CD (Item 597983) United Artists/Intrada, 1976 — Condition: New Copy
Sure, the film was one of Burt Reynold's cheesier moments of the 70s (he also directed it too!) – but it sports a great little score by Charles Bernstein, one that's got some funky moments you might not normally expect! There's a touch of country at points – given the southern setting common to so many Reynolds movies of the time – but the better cuts bring in some nice jazz funk elements that really expand the groove! Highlights include "Flight In The Night", a slow funky jazz groover that would make anyone on CTI shiver with envy; "Laying The Trap", which has a very similar feel; the horn-heavy "Hannah's Club"; the nice crime/cop number "Swamp Chase"; and the sitar-slinky sex track "Erotica". Other titles include "Leaving Home For A Little While", "Cocktails At The Pool", and "For A Little While". CD also brings in some great extra tracks too – including "Gator Drugged", "Gator Makes His Catch", "First Meeting", and "Alley Scene".
