Ray Bryant's turning his soul jazz piano to a set of film themes here – grooving familiar numbers with a nice little groove – but still also keeping a bit of a soundtrack feel! Richard Wess scored some larger arrangements for the record – providing a sweeping backdrop that's a nice foil for Ray's piano – and titles include "Exodus", "Laura", "Affair To Remember", "True Love", "Three Coins In A Fountain", "The High & The Mighty" and "On Green Dolphin Street". Takt/Columbia (Japan), Late 60s. Near Mint-
This set of Beatles and Bacharach tunes is a perfect setting for the sharp reed sound of the young Sadao Watanabe. Columbia, 1975. Near Mint-
A little bit later than his classic funky stuff, but still a very nice batch of grooves with Jeremy's hard flute sound out front, and good backing by a small group that includes Alphonze Mouzon on drums and Richie Beirach on electric piano. Cuts have a good electric funk feel to them, and include ... LP, Vinyl record album

In "back", the title is pointing to the fact that Gene Ammons is back on the scene, after being released from 7 years of a tragic 15 year narcotics sentence in prison. The album marks a proud return for Jug – who'd not recorded since a very successful flurry of sides recorded in ... LP, Vinyl record album

Brunswick, 1974. Very Good
An excellent album of jazzy instrumentals – one that features the combination of Lionel Hampton's vibes with the groovy Chicago soul production of Brunswick! The tracks bounce along nicely, as if they were soul instrumental 45s for Brunswick – which is sort of what they were recorded ... LP, Vinyl record album
