Minimalist drone from Masaki Batoh of Ghost – sparely beautiful and somewhat ominous soundscapes from ever-creative experimenter – and the way he created these sounds is kinda mindblowing! Brain Pulse Music is literally what Masaki Batoh has here. Essentially, he dreamed up a machine that could convert radio-transmitted brainwave/EKG data into a more audible frequency. He then found some people to make that happen! Also in the mix here are both peaceful sounding and kind of clattering bits of more traditional Japanese instrumentation – drums, gongs and bells. Dreamy, haunting stuff from a master experimentalist! Includes "Kunamo Codex 1", "Eye Tracking Test", "Kumano Codex 2", "Kumano Codex 3", "Kumano Codex 4", "Kumano Codex 5" and "Aiki No Okami".  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Lost late 60s psychedelia from Doug Jerebine – recorded in London after leaving New Zealand and before a spiritual search that led him to India – buzzing, Hendrix-ian greatness that more than lives up to that lofty comparision! The legendary album from Mayo Thompson – pared down with more of an outsider folk rock vibe after the freaky psych of the first couple Red Krayola – and ultimately just as trailblazing! One of 70s rock's finest moments – the second album from Big Star! One of the wildest records of the early 70s – and it's still pretty darn hard to argue with the power of this one – even if the meddling of the producers is nearly as legendary as the album itself! Patti Smith's first album and one of greatest rock albums of the 70s! Pure, driving passion powers Patti as profoundly as it ever would here on horses.
