CD (Item 581353) Casablanca/Gold Legion, 1978 — Condition: New Copy

A nice set from singer, songwriter and stage presence Paul Jabara – still probably best remembered for "Last Dance", which he wrote for Donna Summer – here with a unique set of his own on Casablanca! The label was making huge strides in putting disco into the mainstream at the time, and you can certainly see how Jabara must have looked like a sure bet. Whether it's a dancefloor soul vessel or a character-driven story song, there's no shaking the strength of the songwriting track after track – collaborating on that with producer Bob Esty on most tunes. Good natured disco & pop soul all the way! Includes "Didn't The Time Go Fast", "Saturday Matinee", "Trapped In A Stairway", "Dancin' (Lift Your Spirits Higher)", "Last Dance" (in a more ballady mode than the Donna Summer version that works really well), "Pleasure Island", "Something's Missing (In My Life)" and more.  © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc.
