My Favorite Songs
CD (Item 614725) King (Japan), 1970 — Condition: New Copy
A classic set from one of Japan's greatest jazz vocalists of the 60s and 70s – like most other work of its type, sung completely in English, in a style that's very faithful to American jazz singers from years past! The set's a great no-nonsense outing – and Martha swings nicely with a small combo that's especially great on the basslines – so that the upbeat tunes groove nicely, with a soulful undercurrent that really works well. A few mellower numbers have a great way of gliding that's a bit more subtle, and which also suits Miyake's vocals well – and titles include "So In Love", "Alfie", "Can't Help Lovin Dat Man", "Call Me Irresponsible", "Love Me With All Your Heart", and "I Know Why". © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
