One of our favorite surf soundtracks ever – and a batch of tracks that has a lot more to offer than some of the straighter, poppier competition at the time! There's a depth here that we really love – a way of digging in, and coming up with some great sounds that are clearly inspired by the images on the screen – but which go a bit farther, too – a mode that some Aussie surf scores would explore a few years later – but which is here put together by project leaders Mike Curb and Jerry Styner – who work in the studio with guitar legend Davie Allen, members of The Riptides, and other top-shelf help! After an initial vocal track, the set leaps into a host of jaunty instrumentals that feature lots of bass at the bottom, cool percussion touches, light reeds, and even some tripped-out guitars on the best numbers!
