One of the best early albums from Ash Ra Tempel! Here they bring vocals into to the mix for the first time, though it's still a spacious blend of slow-building atmosphere and spare dynamics that evolve into more feverish and intense maelstroms. The vocals of John L are another instrument, really – with gruff screams and moodier howls that echo the instrumentation impressively. The drums and percussion and incredible, with sax, organ, guitar and electronics. Work that bridges earlier psych to later experimental rock pretty fearlessly!
