A second set of Turkish psychedelia from the 70s in the Turkish Freakout series – great stuff that really covers a lot of terrain stylistically – with a few names that'll be recognizable to lovers of the panoramic Middle Eastern grooves of the era, and a bunch more that we're being introduced to for the first time! One of the great things about the material is that it's not dipping into psyche era trippiness in a shtick-y way at all – it's genuinely creative music that's works with more tradition Turkish folk elements and instrumentation – but fearlessly and brilliantly fuses it with psych, funk, pop, rock and folk.
