Presenting Botticelli/Botticelli Unlimited
CD (Item 544577) Phase 4/Vocalion (UK), 1973/1974 — Condition: New Copy
Not the painter, but a Euro easy maestro – heard here on two sets from the 70s! Presenting Botticelli is a Phase 4 classic from this Dutch arranger – loads of warm instrumentals done in a string-heavy style –but with a lean, mature approach that's a nice update from the Mantovani generation! The Botticelli sound is the one you'd hear cascading out of office building speakers in the 70s – some contemporary tunes, reworked in a gentle instrumental mode – often with a sax or flute lead line, banked nicely over swelling strings. Titles include "Mammy Blue", "Day By Day", "My Love", "It Never Rains In Southern California", "Looking Through The Eyes Of Love", and "Never My Love". Botticelli Unlimited features lots of warm, mellow tracks from this enigmatic Phase 4 maestro – lots of 70s pop tunes, reworked in instrumental ways for the Easy crowd – but with some cool choices in the arrangements that keep things interesting! There's a gentle, Euro sexy sort of feel to lots of these tunes – and titles include "Waterloo", "Rikki Don't Lose That Number", "Seasons In The Sun", "TSOP", "The Air That I Breathe", and "Find Yourself". © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
