Monster BopVarious
CD (Item 630785) Buffalo Bop (Germany), Late 50s/Early 60s — Condition: New Copy
True treasures from the glory days of the novelty horror tune – a time when folks were cutting some really groovy music with the same audio appeal as a schlocky visuals of a monster movie! Many numbers here are heavy on hip production tricks, odd instrumentation, and sound effects – usually layered strongly in the course of a straight-ahead rocker – so that the tunes are as catchy as they are playful! There's loads and loads of numbers in here we've never heard before – music that goes way past "Monster Mash" territory – and the set features a whopping 30 tracks in all, with titles that include "Don't Meet Mr Frankenstein" by Carlos Casal, "I Was A Teenage Monster" by The Keystones, "Nightmare" by Scottie Stuart, "Graveyard" by Larry Bowman, "The Skeleton Fight" by Mack Allen Smith, "The Monster Hop" by Jimmy Dee, "Story That's True" by Carl Bonafede, "The Gorilla" by Bert Convy, "Leopard Man" by Joe Wallace, and "The Monster" by Bobby Please. © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
