A great little Brazilian group from the 70s – one who continues the harmony styles of Sergio Mendes in the 60s, but takes the music into some groovy new directions! The sounds here are more samba than bossa – with guitar and percussion dancing nicely together in the rhythms as group members sing sweetly over the top – and both piano and keyboards adding in some nicely jazzy inflections to the groove, often with the more sophisticated phrasings you might expect in some of the EMI/Odeon work from earlier in the decade. Sivuca joins the group on both accordion and moog (!) – and the whole thing's got a sweetly-grooving style that's totally great! Titles include "Estatutos De Gafiera", "Loteca", "Amor Em Jacuma", " Iboru Iboya", "Beijo Baiano", "O Trem Atrazou", "Asa Branca", and "Fogo Pago".  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

A lost bossa classic from Wanda De Sah – aka Wanda Sa, the wife of Edu Lobo, and a singer who worked with Sergio Mendes in his pre-Brasil 66 days! The album's got a wonderfully laidback feel – languid, yet jazzy, with the feel of some of Astrud Gilberto's best work on Verve, yet with ... LP, Vinyl record album

Amazing bossa jazz from one of Brazil's best combos! The Bossa Tres were led by dynamic pianist Luis Carlos Vinhas – an incredibly strong talent who was as great an arranger as he was a piano player – and on this early session, he's at his most firey, really flowing out with tremendous ... That's Brasil 65, not Brasil 66 – a distinction that marks a key early stage for the great Sergio Mendes – heard here on one of his first albums to mix together bossa jazz and vocals! The approach here is a bit more like vintage bossa dates from Brazil – or a bit like some of the ... LP, Vinyl record album

Their massive second album, and the one with the mindkillin' tracks that shot Public Enemy from an imposing threat to cultural force! There's little we can add to the pantheon in regard to this album. Just know that it's as essential as any album of the era! "Bring The Noise", "Do ... LP, Vinyl record album
