Chopin '66 – The Modern Sounds Of Jack Nitzsche & His Orchestra

The work of Chopin, turned over to the godlike studio talents of a young Jack Nitzsche! The tunes here are all pulled from Chopin's original compositions, but they're reworked very strongly in a 60s LA studio mode – made shorter and given more focus on the main themes, and supported by full orchestrations that still manage to step along at times with a slight 60s groove. The overall feel is relatively serious, almost soundtracky – but there's definitely plenty of Nitzche touches in the overall production and arrangements – a sense of sound that makes wonderful use of electric bass or guitar alongside the more traditional strings and woodwinds.
