Sunshine Girl – The Complete Recordings
CD (Item 472501) A&M/Now Sounds (UK), Late 60s — Condition: New Copy
The complete recordings of The Parade – a wonderfully groovy LA trio that included Murray MacLeod of Roger Nichols & The Small Circle Of Friends! The Parade works with a sound that's very similar to Nichols' classic group – a sing-song blend of harmony pop vocals that's completely sublime, and which is carried off to perfection in all aspects of the recording. The sound's slightly different, as The Parade is a trio of all male voices, compared to the one gal and two guys in Small Circle Of Friends – but there's definitely a post-folk mode here that's sweetened heavily with LA Sunshine, and presented with a charming quality all the way through – way different than most mainstream pop of the time. Production is by group member Jerry Riopelle, a former staff member for Phil Spector – and titles include "Sunshine Girl", "She Sleeps Alone", "Lovers", "The Radio Song", "Kinda Wasted Without You", "AC/DC", "Frog Prince", "I Can See Love", and "Laughin Lady". CD features 9 bonus tracks too – including "Montage Mirror" by The Roger Nichols Trio, and the cuts "One More Time", "Love Is There (demo)", "How Can I Thank You (demo)", "Love Is The People's Choice", and "Frog Prince (alt mix)". © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
