A set of tracks from Galt MacDermot's musical Dude – co-written with Hair lyricist Jerome Ragni, and featuring vocals by Salome Bey (of Andy & The Bey Sisters fame!) Galt did the music, and the group includes him, Bernard Purdie, Cornell Dupree, and has backup vocals by Cissy Houston and Joshie Armstead – all working nicely together in a style that's got some righteous touches that give the album a nice sort of Atlantic 70s soul sound. Salome sings deep and soulfully – in a mode that recalls her work with the Bey Sisters group, but in a mode that's more soul-based – and tracks include "Boo Boo", "Happy Song", "Jazz Bridge", "At Home", "No One", and "A Garden For Two".  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Kilmarnock, 1973. New Copy
Wow! Funky guitarist Billy Butler runs through Galt MacDermot's score for Via Galactica, with music conducted by the funky composer himself. The sound is spacey and electronic, with drums by Bernard Purdie, bass by Wilbur Bascomb, and piano by Galt himself. Tracks include "Hush", " ... LP, Vinyl record album

Kilmarnock, Late 60s. New Copy (reissue)
Nice nice reissue of one of the greatest records to come out of Galt MacDermot's legendary Kilmarnock label! The album's a weird off-kilter batch of jazzy instrumentals, with Galt playing acoustic and electric piano – and with backing by a tight little combo that includes Pretty Purdie on ...
