Norma Jean Wright was one of the singers in Chic – the super-huge pop-disco combo led by Bernie Edwards and Nile Rogers. This solo album was issued during the height of the group's fame, and it's got a lot of elements of Chic's style – but also more of a straighter soul edge. Tracks are a bit less campy, and Norma goes for some soulful moments on tracks like "I Believe In You", "Saturday", "This Is The Love", and "So I Get Hurt".
