A heavy heavy set from The Revelations – sounding even better here than before, thanks to some deeply soulful leads from the mighty Tre Williams! Although a contemporary group, The Revelations really go for a style from way back – a bit of a blend of southern soul and some slightly more modern elements – all recorded with a rootsy quality that's quite different than most of their contemporaries! There's less funk in the mix than other albums of this nature – and instead, Williams really sparkles on laidback, deep-burning tunes that really make the best of his vocals – very old school, with plenty of Memphis and Muscle Shoals in the mix!
