CD (Item 611166) Jamot, 1998 — Condition: New Copy

A really unique little record from the Chicago scene – a blues record, but one that's led by a trombonist – with an approach that's almost equal parts funk and blues – quite a different blend for the Windy City! The vibe's almost got a contemporary Nola feel – plenty of classic elements in the roots, and a wide range of rhythms that go way past standard blues riffs – and which allow James plenty of room to solo, and the group lots of space to cook things up too! James also handles the vocals, with a nice raspy tone – and titles include "Baby I'm Gone", "Messin With My Mind", "All Of Your Love", "Playboy Party", "I Wanna Be Your Mind", and a cover of "Cosmic Slop"!  © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc.
