A really unique little record from the Chicago scene – a blues record, but one that's led by a trombonist – with an approach that's almost equal parts funk and blues – quite a different blend for the Windy City! The vibe's almost got a contemporary Nola feel – plenty of classic elements in the roots, and a wide range of rhythms that go way past standard blues riffs – and which allow James plenty of room to solo, and the group lots of space to cook things up too!
