Wareika Hill Sounds
LP (Item 466390) Honest Jons (UK), 2007 — Condition: New Copy
Dynamite rootsy vibes from Wareika Hill, laid down by trombonist Calvin Bubbles Cameron. Very much in the vein of the fantastic Light Of Saba set, or some of the Count Ossie & The Mystic Revelation Of Rastafari material, with a nice, raw stripped down approach, featuring bold horn lines riding rhythms built up from Nyabinghi drumming and nicely bouncing basslines, plus some atmospheric dub-like effects laid in here and there. Collaborators include the Light of Saba family, Deadly Headly Bennet and Tony Allen, with 10 tracks in all, including "Coconut Head Version", "Joseph C", "Tears In Exile", "Uhuru Pujama", "Sweet Incense", "Jamaica Is reggae Land", "Africa Freedom March", "One People Version", "Queen Of Sheba" and "Moses". © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
