September In The Rain – Life Of Nelson Riddle (hardcover)

Add Item to Want List
Book (Item 352749) Billboard Books, 2001 — Condition: New Copy

The full story behind the man behind the music – arranger Nelson Riddle, best known for his 50s arrangements for Frank Sinatra, but a deeply talented artist who did loads of other great work! Biographer Peter Levinson tells the full story of Riddle's career – starting out with his early years in New Jersey, his move to Hollywood, his backing of famous singers, and his strong comeback on Linda Ronstadt's famous albums of standards. Our only complaint is that Levinson barely mentions Riddle's incredible 70s albums for MPS – listed in a section titled "The Difficult Years" – but hey, we're used to such treatment of the music we love, given our crazy tastes! The book is hardcover, over 300 pages, and includes a variety of black and white images. (Spine has a remainder mark.)  © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc.
