LP (Item 22896) Coco, 1975 -- Condition: Used

Eddie Palmieri's work for the Coco label is some of his best of the 70s, and this album is no exception -- and while the title may call the record "unfinished", it sounds pretty darn well done to our ears -- far better than most other Latin sides of the time! The album includes a moody 10 minute descarga track called "Cobarde", with great solos on conga, timbales, alto, and guitar -- and it's also got a nice fusiony jazz waltz called "Resemblance", which features work by Ron Carter, Steve Gadd, and Jeremy Steig. Eddie solos in a contemplative free style on the track "Random Thoughts", and the whole album's a winner all the way through!  © 1996-2009, Dusty Groove America, Inc.
