Hunt Up Wind
LP (Item 16654) Inner City/East Wind, 1978 — Condition: Used
A great set of Japanese fusion tracks, recorded by trombonist Hiroshi Fukumura, with a group that includes Harvey Mason on drums, Paulinho DaCosta on percussion, Cornell Dupree on guitar, and Don Grusin on keyboards. The album is one of the best of the 70's Jap fusion era, and even though this is the US pressing, it's still pretty tough to find. The title cut's a monster, with a sweet Tribe Called Quest vibe to it, and other nice ones include "Pogo", "White Clouds", "Jango", and "Captain Caribe". Great stuff, and an essential album in an overlooked genre! (US pressing. Cover has a promo stamp, some light wear, and a peeled spot from sticker removal.) © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
