LP (Item 48179) ABC, 1964 — Condition: Used

A nice little groover from Bill Doggett – recorded after his years at King Records, with a sound that's even more jazz based than his original work! The set features Doggett hitting the Hammond hard, on short instrumental grooves with a mixture of soul jazz and R&B lines to them. Players include Billy Butler on guitar, Elvin Shepard on alto and tenor, Andrew Ennis on tenor and baritone, and Charles Hatcher on percussion – and titles include "Fatso", "Mudcat", "The Kicker", "Ol Mose Blues", and "Oo Da". (Original mono pressing. Cover has some wear, with marker and pen on the back.)  © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc.
