A big one for Al Jarreau – a record that has a groove that's a bit more mainstream than some of Al's previous records, but which still leaves plenty of space for his amazing vocals! Jarreau's working again with producer Jay Graydon, who pitches the instrumentation towards more electric-sounding levels than before – more of the rhythms and keyboard parts you'd guess from the album's date, although still at a level that's warmer than some of Al's more commercial contemporaries. Titles include "Raging Waters", "Imagination", "Murphy's Law", "Tell Me", "After All", "High Crime", and "Let's Pretend". (Cover has a cutout notch.)  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Naughty
Warner, 1980. Very Good
A great album of mellow modern soul tracks recorded in Chaka's post-Rufus years! The record was produced by the great Arif Mardin, the man who made so many of the 70s Atlantic soul records work so well – and he handled Chaka's voice with a sweet sweet sound that you don't always get on her ...
