LP (Item 634148) Mississippi, Late 40s/1950s/Early 60s — Condition: New Copy

Wild stuff – and one of the coolest compilations we've ever seen from the global scene! The set documents some early underground explorations of rocking rhythms – unusual use of electric instrumentation and R&B-styled production, mostly from far-flung sources, and served up with a fair bit of exotic touches too! The package features notes on each track, which helps tie the music together in a nice way – and although the 10" album is short, it packs a mighty punch. Titles include "Samisen Boogie Woogie" by Ichimaru, "Skokiaan" by Cold Storage Comission, "Rak Ron Ying Kwa Det" by Gunga Din, "Zaino Ya Zaino" by Moahammed Abdel Wahab, "La Buena Vida" by Los Golden Boys, "Whistlin Boogie" by Sister Slocum & Her Little Brother, and "Eena Meena Deeka" by Kishor Kumar.  © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc.
