Freaky Finnish disco – a huge collection that features 100 tunes recorded in Finland at the end of the 70s and start of the 80s – each of them a unique contribution to the sound of club music! The styles here vary widely – and although most of the music was marketed under the genre of disco, there's also a good degree of disco-influenced European pop in the mix too – that extrapolation of American dancefloor modes that was used often by German and Scandinavian producers at the end of the 70s. However, that doesn't stop the set from being pretty darn groovy – and with that many tunes to chose from, especially at this price, there's more than enough grooves in the mix for the money. Notes are all Finnish, but seem to be pretty detailed on the contents – and from what we can tell, the 4CD package brings together contents of an 8 cassette series that was issued with some pretty striking covers back in the day! Features work by Bianca, Jukka Heino, Salomon, Nummisuutarit, Jarno Sarjanen, Eric, Lisbeth, Leena, Veijo Sailio, John Hemlight, Paajanen, Maria, Kirsi, Ami & Kirsi, Harmony Four, Eric Mannstrom, and many other cats who never cracked these shores at the time!  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.
