Changes – The Story Of Beryl Marsden

Out Of Stock

Add Item to Want List
CD (Item 597048) RPM (UK), Mid 60s/1970s — Condition: New Copy

Overlooked girl pop from Beryl Marsden – a great British singer from the 60s, but one who never cut a full album – just a great handful of singles that are nicely stuffed in this career-spanning package! Beryl's got that great sense of timing and punctuation that marks some of her more famous contemporaries – like Sandie Shaw or Cilla Black – and on the 60s tracks, she gets some wonderful backings that really have that soulful UK punch that marks some of the best work from this period. A few cuts feature Marsden singing in The Shotgun Express – a hip trio that features early work from Rod Stewart – and the set also features some later tracks from the 70s, and a few more from recent years too. Titles include "I Know", "Gonna Make Him My Baby", "I Could Feel The Whole World Turn Round", "Who You Gonna Hurt", "Music Talk", "Funny Cos Neither Could I", and "When The Lovelight Starts Shining Through His Eyes".  © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc.
