Jack Jones sings, and beautifully too – on the kind of mellow album that few male singers made so well in the 60s! The set's got a great mix of jazz sensibility and straighter vocal singing – backed by light strings from Ralph Carmichael, but also a bit of tinkling piano from Doug Talbert – in a mode that floats easily with Jones' tremendous vocals. There's a depth here that's really wonderful – a quality that re-ignites even familiar tunes, but which sounds especially great on a few of the album's lesser-known numbers. Tracks include "I Don't Care Much", "Somewhere There's Someone", "Love After Midnight", "Somewhere My Love", "The Shining Sea", "A Day In The Life Of A Fool", and "The Face I Love". The Burt Kaempfert touch is heard here especially in ... LP, Vinyl record album

One of Oscar Brown's great ones, recorded live at the Cellar Door in Washington before an enthusiastic crowd of hipsters!
