El Jazz Mexicano
7-inch (Item 585928) Jazzman (UK), Late 60s — Condition: New Copy
Massive Latin cookers from Mexican drummer Tino Contreras – grooves that are as great as anything coming out of the New York scene during the 60s! There's definitely a jazz feel here, as promised by the title – and although things start out in familiar territory, the cuts often take some nice twists and turns that really keep things interesting – and which often make for as much focus on the solos as on the hard rhythms of the tunes! Titles include the amazing "La Noche De Los Dioses" – which has chorus vocals and Sun Ra-like organ – plus "Orbita", "Credo", and "Orfeo En Los Tambores". And 2 cuts here are exclusive to the 45 – and won't appear on later Jazzman reissues! (Numbered limited edition of 600 in a hand-printed sleeve.) © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
