Did power pop ever get any more perfect than this? It's hard to think so – and more than 25 years later, this album's got a raw power that's still undeniable! The album features The Jam at their early best – still with the rougher punky edges firmly in place, but also able to bring in some of the more soulful touches that would really dominate Paul Weller's career in later years. The group kicks it hard with tunes that include "Billy Hunt", "A Bomb In Wardour Street", "Down In The Tube Station At Midnight", "Mr Clean", and a great cover of "David Watts" – then surprises us even more with the beautifully gentle tune "English Rose".  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Safe As Milk
Buddah, 1967. New Copy (reissue)
Mindblowing music from Captain Beefheart & The Magic Band – a record that's got plenty of garagey grit at the core, but which also has a heady freak rock vibe overall! The 1967 album really captures this perfect moment – one when so many artists like Don Van Vliet had their feet in ... LP, Vinyl record album

Elektra, 1977. New Copy (reissue)
The masterful debut of Television! Marquee Moon is indisputably one of best records to come out of late 70s NYC . It's truly a singular achievement – one of the few records that seems to be on every rock literati's list of the all-time-bests – and actually deserves every bit of praise ... LP, Vinyl record album

Epic/Sundazed, 1968. New Copy (reissue)
The rare mono mix of Hurdy Gurdy Man – easily one of the headiest Donovan albums of the 60s – a record that moves past the simple psychedelic pop of earlier hits, and into a range of mind-expanding themes and styles! There's a cerebral quality here that seems to take hold even on the ... LP, Vinyl record album

Sun Also Rises
Wah Wah/Lion (Spain), 1970. New Copy
A really weird little set from The Sun Also Rises – a British folksy duo who sound like they might have been raised in the village from The Wicker Man! The songs are spare, but somewhat eerie – a blend of Anne Hemmingway's odd vocals and gentle guitar, dulcimer, glockenspiel, and ... LP, Vinyl record album

Hook & Sling
Tuff City/Funky Delicacies, Late 60s. New Copy (reissue)
Excellent compilation of tight funky New Orleans tracks by the great Eddie Bo. You may know him from his classic sample cut "Hook & Sling", but there's loads of other great cuts on here, most of which never got reissued, and which never turn up on original 45s. Hot cuts here include ... LP, Vinyl record album

A great lost descarga session from the 60s – led by Chihuahua Martinez!
