The first Raydio set from guitarist Ray Parker – an artist who'd worked on countless session gigs by the time of this album, which gave him more than enough chops to get things right from the start! The sound is tight and definitely aimed at the charts, by Ray also brings his own sort of groove to the set too – kind of a mainstream funk approach that found a very big audience at the time! As the years pass, this one sounds better and better to our ears – with titles that include "Jack & Jill", "Let's Go All The Way", "Is This A Love Thing", "Honey I'm Rich", "You Need This (To Satisfy That)", "Betcha Can't Love Me Just Once", "Me", and "Get Down". (Includes the printed inner sleeve. Cover has some wear.)  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Mercury, 1978. Good+
Excellent work from this smooth Chicago vocal group! This one's got Don working with arrangements by Bobby Martin and Dexter Wansel that still keep ... LP, Vinyl record album

Cheryl Lynn
Columbia, 1978. Very Good
Massive work from the great Cheryl Lynn – and a key bridge between late 70s disco and the newer grooves of the 80s club scene! The album's a mix of midtempo groovers with a few mellower tracks – and it's got a tight, slightly jazzy sound that was very fresh at the time, and which still ... LP, Vinyl record album
