Let's Get To What's Real
CD (Item 606955) Purpose, 2012 — Condition: New Copy
A great little record – way more than you'd guess from Elliott's indie rockish look on the cover! The set's a smoking blue-eyed soul session – with a depth that more than lives up to some of the recent Neo Soul gems on the Purpose label – served up with a sweet, soulful blend of modes that hangs on plenty of 60s and 70s soul references – yet which comes across with a lean, contemporary vibe too! Yamin's got a hell of a voice – a range that will have you shedding all expectations once you hear the set – and given the smoke he's setting off here, we can bet that his career will be burning for long years to come. Titles include "Let's Get To What's Real", "Self Control", "Gather Round", "Downtown", "Enough Love", "Virginia", "I'll Be That Bridge", and "Up Down All Around". © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
