CD (Item 485693) A&M/Esoteric (UK), 1969 -- Condition: New Copy
An amazing collaboration between rock group Spooky Tooth and French composer Pierre Henry -- a great meeting of the minds that comes out sounding pretty darn groovy! Henry's right at the height of his "Psyche Rock" experiments here -- and he inflects the band's darker style with some playful electronics and other cool sounds -- really tripping things out at times, and almost creating a slight undercurrent of electric funk at others! The record's almost much more in Henry's style of work than it is in the usual Spooky Tooth one -- although the group definitely brings in a brooding energy of their own that really intensifies the record. The album's got an "electric mass" style, but is much wilder than other versions of that genre from the time -- and titles include "Hosanna", "Confession", "Prayer", "Offering", and "Credo". © 1996-2009, Dusty Groove America, Inc. | ||||||
