Tight funky fusion from Finland – a wicked little set that's filled with keyboards from the legendary Olli Avhenlahti! You might know Olli from a few famous records issued under his own name – and here, he's working with the Unisono quintet – mixing his own Fender Rhodes, organ, and moog with saxes and flute from Paroni Paakkunainen, guitar from Nono Soderberg, bass from Pekka Pohjola, and drums from Reino Laine – a nicely tight group, but one with a good sense of space too! The music's never too jamming – and often hits a nice undercurrent of funk in the mix that reminds us more of the best American soul fusion of the time, than some of the more rock-influenced European groups of the period.
