LP (Item 6509) Phil-LA Of Soul, Late 60s — Condition: Very Good-
A funky instrumental classic – with a groove that was copied by a huge amount of other groups! Cliff and crew take the funky 45 sound into the mainstream – vamping and comping in tight choppy grooves that were perfect for dances like The Horse, The Jerk, and some of the other harder numbers of the time. The title cut – "The Horse" – is a killer, and the record's filled with a number of other tracks that have a similar feel and flavor. Some cuts have vocals, mostly in the hip shouted style, but a number of the cuts are instrumental. Titles include "Judge Baby, I'm Back", "The Horse", "The Camel", "Burning Desire", "Love Is All Right", "Let's Have A Good Time", and "The Mule".
