Although Captain Sky was pretty much just a proto-P-Funk wannabe on most of his records, this one's actually a pretty decent batch of grooves – and it includes the excellent "Super Sporm", a killer extended track with a great conga break, and a tight old school sample sound! Also features "Saturday Night Move-Ease", "Wonder Worm" and "Can't Stop Now".  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Revolucion
AVI, 1980. Sealed
Latin inflected club grooves by the legendary El Coco! The band was one of the most successful projects of the Rinder/Lewis production team – and although this album's not their best, it's still very much in their classic mode. A tasty set from Mandrill – one of their first records away from the Polydor label, but every bit as great as later efforts for that company, especially Mandrilland. The overall sound is a bit smoother than some of their full-out funky albums – but in a way that really helps blend ... LP, Vinyl record album

Get Up With It
Columbia, 1974. Very Good+ 2LP Gatefold
Miles Davis' last studio session before a few years of seclusion – and a really monumental effort, probably the baddest of the electric period! The album does a great job of capturing the energy of the frenzied live sets from that time, and matching it with Teo Macero's cut and paste editing ... LP, Vinyl record album
