Ombre
CD (Item 8650) Schema (Italy), 1997 — Condition: New Copy
One of the first albums ever on the now-legendary Schema Records label – a wicked batch of Fender Rhodes funk from keyboardist Paolo Achenza, with production and arrangements by Nicola Conte! Achenza's keyboard sound is right on the money – and back at the time of the album's release, he was one of the few cats to get a 70s groove like this so right – a true inspiration for countless others to follow! The band is bigger than on his debut work with his trio, but in a good way – with tight jazz funk horns that really show Conte's touch, as does the rock-solid classic production approach. Titles include "Ombre", "Samba Royale", "Mondo Cane", "Afro Impression", "Abstract", "Six", and "Semplicissimo". = © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
