Ever Changing Minstrel
CD (Item 626426) Columbia/Tompkins Square, 1973 — Condition: New Copy
A stunner of an early 70s folk rock record from Bill Wilson – a singer/songwriter from Lebanon, Indiana – with a husky voice perfectly-suited for his top notch, slightly funky country rock style. This a great record! It was released by Columbia's Windfall imprint and must have disappeared relatively soon after, which is a crying shame. It's produced by Bob Johnston, the man in the booth for 60s uber-classic albums by Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, Johnny Cash and many, many others – and he managed to put together some of the peerless studio musicians behind some of those for this records for this one – Charlie Daniels, Kenny Buttrey, Jerry Reed, Bob Wilson, Pete Drake and Cissy Houston among them. That said, it's Bill Wilson's show – and damn good one – a record we'd put up there with some of the more famous country rock albums of the 70s. Includes"Rainy Day Resolution", "Pay Day Give Away", "Black Cat Blues", "Following My Lord", "The Good Ship Society", "Every Changing Minstrel", "Ballad Of Cody" and more. © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
