CD (Item 79250) RPM (UK), 1960s — Condition: New Copy

A collection of rare girl group and solo gal pop singles from the mid 60s EMI vaults – nuggets from the Capitol, United Artists, Liberty, Tower and other affiliated monikers! RPM is just about the finest source for reissues of mostly lost 60s mod and pop groovers around, and they've outdone themselves once again with this one! Girls Gone Zonk collects 22 tracks, mostly from 1964-1966, and range from driving girlie soul to sweet pop harmony tracks, by Donna Loren, The Girls, The Dynels, The Twilettes, The Pandoras and other obcure girl acts. It's all pretty great – full of cutesy girl group kitsch with a sock and harmony soul influences, and not a one that you could ever hope to turn up on any oldies radio playlists! "So, Do The Zonk" by Donna Loren, "Chico's Girl" by The Girls, "The One You Can't Have" by The Honeys, "Dynamite" by Diane Renay, "You Don't Love Me" by The Starlets, "Paper Sun" by The Murmaids, "Run-Around Lover" by Sharon Marie, "The Silencers" by Patti Seymore and tons more!  © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc.
