Spirit Of The Boogie
LP (Item 20922) De-Lite, 1975 — Condition: New Copy
Sure, this one's got "boogie" in the title – but don't let that scare you off! The album's carved in the same hard funky style as mid 70s hits like "Hollywood Swinging" or "Jungle Boogie" (both from earlier albums) – and in fact, the "boogie" in the title seems to be a definite reference to that latter track, which is aped a bit on the album, instead of the more common 70s use of the term for disco. Whew! That's a bit of a complicated explanation – but we're just trying to tell you that this one's still plenty funky, with loads of great drums, jazzy riffing, monster basslines, and even a dose of righteous soul! Tracks include "Spirit of The Boogie", "Jungle Jazz", "Ancestral Ceremony", "Winter Sadness", and "Ride the Rhythm". One of their last great LPs, and an essential addition to their mid 70's opus! Reissued with the original gatefold cover, too! © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | ||||||
