LaBelle
LP (Item 6124) Warner, 1971 — Condition: Used
Labelle's first album of rockin soul for Warner, and a great batch of deep soul tracks that take the group far far beyond their 60s girl group recordings! The album's a stunner – complete with ripping vocals by Patti Labelle, Nona Hendryx, and Sarah Dash – and done in a hip style that's every bit the best of bad-rapping female soul in the 70s. It's like a bomb went off or something between this one and the group's previous Atlantic album – changing the sound of Patti and the girls tremendously, and turning them towards a style that would keep them in the record racks for years! With the cuts "Too Many Days", "Running Out Of Fools", "When The Sun Comes Shining Through", "Heart Be Still", and a nice version of "Time & Love". (Cover has some seam splitting and wide clear tape on the top seam.) © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
