CD (Item 28594) Philips (Brazil), 1973 -- Condition: New Copy
Wild one! Although this album isn't as crazy in the way that Gal's 1969 psychedelic albums are, it's got some very cool orchestral arrangements, and great small combo playing by the likes of Gilberto Gil, Tenorio Jr., Wagner Tiso, and Roberto Menescal. The arrangements are more subtle than earlier releases, and there's no "hit-you-over-the-head" guitar parts -- but instead, there's a very sophisticated approach to the material that approaches Caetano Veloso's best work from the time. Gal does a great version of Veloso's cut "Relance", plus lots of other nice ones that include "Passarinho", "Da Maior Imortancia", "India", "Volta", and the funky "Pontos De Luz". The whole thing's incredibly beautiful -- and it's got Gal in a wild bikini cover, too! © 1996-2009, Dusty Groove America, Inc. | |||||
