Some of the darkest work we've ever heard from Swedish bassist Torbjorn Zetterberg – a set that really pushes past some of the straighter modes of earlier years, and which also increases the size of his group as well! Zetterberg's surrounded here by some of his best contemporaries on the Moserobie label – including Alberto Pinton on reeds, Jonas Kullhammar and Per Texas Johansson on tenor, Kjell Nordeson on drums, and Mats Aleklint on trombone – all working in a style that's highly collaborative, but often a bit freer than some of Torbjorn's other work. There's a decidedly 60s avant approach to the music – particularly that of the New York scene – but given the players, there's also a youthful freshness too, especially at some of the more unfettered solo moments.
