Plenty happenin' here – a wealth of boogaloo grooves, mad Latin jazz riffs, and lots lots more – all served up on a platter that's easily one of the most cooking ever from trumpeter Willie Rodriguez! Like other releases on the Fonseca label, there's a nicely messed-up groove going on – a style that easily shifts between different Latin modes in search of the rawest sound possible – without any thought of mainstream convention, or the sort of straighter-laced sounds that might have played with the suburban crowds. Willie's band is clearly nice and youthful, and more than willing to follow his leadership – working equally well on both the English and Spanish language tunes on the set. Titles include "Boogaloo Hay", "Sansuyo", "Mi Guajira", "Mi Shingaling", "The Clock", "What You Want Is Boogaloo", "7th Ave Train", and the very tasty "Descarga El Bravo"!  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

A great lost smoker from the legendary Fonseca Records – put together by a singer with Puerto Rican roots, and rich experience on the New York scene – which seems to give him an incredible ear for the hippest styles of the late 60s Latin generation! There's a wonderful sense of depth ... LP, Vinyl record album
Fonseca/Andale, Mid 60s. New Copy (reissue)
Cuba descara – played American style! The set's a killer bit of Latin jazz from the New York scene of the 60s – a really brilliant effort headed up by Osvaldo Chihuahua Martinez – who plays both timbale and guiro – in a crack lineup that also features Chocolate Armenteros ... LP, Vinyl record album

Mainstream, 1967. New Copy (reissue)
A killer album of hard instrumental Latin soul tracks – one of the few albums ever done by funky reed player Mauricio Smith! United Artists, Mid 60s. New Copy (reissue)
A tight little Machito album from the 60s – produced by Leroy Holmes, and done with a bit more punch than some of his other records from the time! Funky fusion with plenty of Latin touches – a really compelling set from the Nicaraguan scene of the 70s! The album's got the same criss-crossing of influences you'd hear in some of the best Bay Area projects of this type – no surprise since Jose Chepito Areas is a key member of the ... Time, 1962. New Copy (reissue)
One of the few albums ever issued as a leader by the great Joe Cain – a wonderful Latin arranger with a really mad ear for a groove! Speed, Late 60s. New Copy (reissue)
A wild wild album of Latin soul – one of the maddest albums ever recorded for the legendary Speed label! Right Tempo (Italy), 1971. New Copy 2LP (reissue)
One of the most haunting Morricone soundtracks ever – and one of the grooviest too! The album's a perfect blend of our two favorite styles of Morricone work – that of the floating female vocal over a gentle groove, and the darker, tenser side of his music. The main "Verushka" ... Right Tempo (Italy), 1973/1998. New Copy 2LP
Fantastic! Easy Tempo scores again with this beautiful rerelease/repackaging of Gianni Ferrio's lost score for the film Una Farfalla Con Le Ali Insanguinate.
