Single Action (with bonus track)
CD (Item 524355) Muse, 1978 — Condition: Used
A 70s set from Willis Jackson – but one that has him working in the same groovy array of rhythms and phrasings brought to his best 60s work on Prestige! The group here features two familiar factors from before – Pat Martino on guitar and Carl Wilson on organ – both really wonderful players who know how to match Jackson's inventive sense of energy inherited from the R&B years, but turned here towards hipper, more contemporary modes. The rest of the combo features Jimmy Lewis on bass, Yusef Ali on drums, and Ralph Dorsey on percussion – and titles include "Bolita", "You Are The Sunshine Of My Life", "Hittin The Numbers", "Single Action", and "Evergreen". CD also features a bonus take on "Evergreen". (Out of print.) © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
