Funkapolitan
LP (Item 394101) CBS/Pavillion, 1982 — Condition: Used
One of the lesser-remembered proto-funk groups of the new wave years – a British combo with a nice little bass-heavy groove and a strong penchant for catchy and straightforward tunes! The sound here isn't as experimental as that of the Ze Records scene in New York, but it shares a similar sense of playfulness and mix of jazzy instrumentation – strangely filtered through a bit more of a British new wave hook-heavy approach to the tunes. Tunes include the great conga-heavy "War", plus "Illusion", "Run Run Run", "In The Crime Of Live", "There It Is Again", and "Behold The Super Ace". (Cover has a promo stamp, some wear, a name in pen on front, and sticker residue.) © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
