Live At Smalls
CD (Item 596524) Smalls Live, 2010 — Condition: New Copy
A great solo set from pianist Spike Wilner – the driving force behind the whole Smalls Live series as a producer, but a hell of a musician as well! Wilner's got a great style that draws strongly from jazz piano tradition, but really makes things his own – using strands of 20th century technique on the keys, yet inflecting them with a wonderfully personal voice – a sound that's far more introspective than you might guess at the outset, and which really has us rapt in ways that are different than the experience we get from other contemporary piano solo albums. Titles include "All Too Soon", "Elite Syncopations", "Echoes Of Spring", "Gone With The Wind", "Lullaby Of The Leaves", "Tea For Two", and "Bodhisattva Blues". © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
