Max Roach With The Boston Percussion Ensemble

Out Of Stock

Add Item to Want List
LP (Item 77303) Mercury, Late 50s — Condition: Used

One of Max's most experimental albums from the 50s – a set of serious compositional works performed in conjunction with the Boston Percussion Ensemble. The feel is very much in the mode of 20th century classical work, such as the recordings in the 60s by the Percussions Of Strasbourg – with a wide variety of percussion instruments used on the set, and Roach's drums at the center. Titles include "The Music Inn Suite", "Evolution", and "Variations On A Familiar Theme" – all written by Harold Farberman, who directs the group. (Blue label pressing, with deep groove. Back cover has a small sticker in one corner.)  © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc.
